Terms of Use

1. Overview

Yard Sale Treasure Map provides a community platform that allows users to create and publish local yard sale listings (including descriptions, photos and addresses), search and navigate to nearby sales, and crowdsource or share yard sale listings from other sources. We provide tools for listing and discovery; we do not operate the sales themselves.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Platform. By accessing or using the Platform you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

3. User Accounts

Certain features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and be responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Content & License

You retain ownership of content you submit (“User Content”). By posting User Content you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to host, store, reproduce, modify, display, distribute, and otherwise use that content for operating, promoting, and improving the Platform.

You agree not to post content that:

• Is false, misleading, or fraudulent;
• Infringes another party’s intellectual property or privacy rights;
• Contains offensive, obscene, or unlawful material;
• Violates local zoning, permit, or other laws related to yard sales.

We may remove or disable access to any User Content that violates these Terms or that we believe is inappropriate.

5. Community-Sourced Listings

The Platform allows users to crowdsource yard sale information (including imported or observed listings). By submitting such information you represent that it is publicly available or that you have permission to share it. Crowdsourced listings may be edited, merged, or otherwise processed to improve accuracy. We do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of crowd-sourced data.

6. Navigation & Directions

The Platform may provide maps, navigation, or routing using third-party services (e.g., Apple Maps, Google Maps). We are not responsible for the accuracy, safety, or legality of routes. Follow applicable laws and exercise caution when navigating.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for commercial activity beyond personal yard sales;
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Platform without authorization;
• Interfere with or damage the Platform or related systems;
• Post spam, scams, or misleading entries;
• Post false listings or abuse the crowd-sourcing features.

8. Data & Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and share personal information. By using the Platform you consent to those practices. If your listing includes geolocation data (addresses or map markers), you consent to that data being processed and used to power search and navigation features.

9. Intellectual Property

All Platform materials not contributed by users — including design, text, logos, and code — are owned or licensed by us and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy or reuse those materials without our written permission.

10. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that listings are accurate, that the Platform is error-free, or that navigation directions are safe. You assume all risk when using the Platform and its services.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenues, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Platform or reliance on any content or listings.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Yard Sale Treasure Map and its officers, directors, employees and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your User Content.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for conduct we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to the Platform.

14. Changes

We may revise these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will post the revised Terms on the Platform and indicate an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Virginia, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
