YES, IT’S THIS WEEKEND! Calling all collectors of antiques and vintage: Super Picker Lonnie Lowe invites you to stop by his Spring/Summer Yard Sale Extravaganza this Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6, from 8 a.m. until around 4 p.m. (or when the garage door closes for the night). Depending on how much is left, Lonnie may may also be back at it on Sunday, June 7, from 8 a.m. until about noon. Serious discounting starts on Sunday, and maybe even on Saturday afternoon.
This is NOT your neighbors yard sale! If you’ve shopped Lonnie’s twice-yearly sales in the past, you already know it’s well worth your while to come take a look. As his garage is overflowing from months of picking, you can expect to see antique, vintage and artisan glassware, pottery, metal work, fine and costume jewelry (including Native American) and watches, furniture, paintings, prints, treasures from around the world, commemorative coins and tokens, and tons more. What you WONT see is the more typical garage sale fare of childrens clothes, toys, or household surplus.
The address is 4901 Threechopt Road in Hampton, Va. 23666, which is off Mercury Boulevard, kinda behind the old Newmarket North Mall, where Sears used to be. Look for the beautiful yard on the corner of Threechopt and Whealton. In addition to an eye for old treasures, Lonnie has a fabulous green thumb.
