I’m loving this site! It’s definitely helped make my garagesaling go a lot smoother. I do have a couple suggestions:
1. Allowing me to edit sales that I’ve shared. (I created a sale and shared it with other people, but then realized I made a mistake on the date of the sale, but had no way to change that information.)
1.2 Logging in with an account. This would allow me to change any sales I’ve shared. It would also let me sync my route between my computer and the iphone app.
2. Changing the routes — Some sales start at 7:30, others at 9. Even if the 9am sale is close to my house, I don’t want to hit it until later. Being able to alter my route would be awesome.
3. Transferring routes to other devices, like my Tom Tom. The service you use to optimize routes offers to export itineraries to TomTom. It would be awesome.

Great website! Thank you so much for your work. I’ve used it for two weekends now. Is there anyway as you move forward with the website design that it would be possible to put the distance between each street in the directions. If I don’t know the area I don’t know how far the next turn is. It could be 4 miles or it could be .4 miles. Make sense? Like the distances show up on MapQuest of YahooMaps. Again, you did a great job!

Hi- I really like your site, a lot of our garage sales do block sales or family sales and will only state the name of the street without the #, or just the name of the place. Is there any way that the name of the street can be mapped?
went to 4 of your posted garage sales and none of them existed….use this site and it use to be good….what happened

Deleting a second duplicate address does not work.
Deleting an address out of the itenerary list directly, would be nice. Like right click on an entry and select delete from a popup. Or highlight an entry and hit the DELETE key? Clicking on a balloon and selecting remove does not work, most of the time. Refresh wipes out a whole itenerary list.
Deleting, in general, does not work so well.
Also, a blank map, free of any sales would be nice, since the populated map does not allow to remove automatically imported addresses.
I really wish my garage sale showed up on your site. I posted it on Craig’s List with the complete address (no different than many who had garage sales show up on your site) and I wasn’t fortunate enough to make it on. I’m sure it would have helped a lot but I really don’t know what I did wrong. I followed directions but there must be some type of glitch that leaves some posters out. I even checked “other ads” and still couldn’t find my ad.
I love this site! I do have a suggestion, though. It would be nice to be able to save addresses so that I don’t have to enter my starting address every time. It’s not a big deal, but would be one more way to shorten the process.
Also, I did find a workaround to the issue of no address number on some of the sales and not being able to map those. If you type in 10, 100, 1000, or 10000, it allow you to map to the street. This isn’t a perfect method, of course (especially for long streets), but it has always worked for me.
There is an ad bar taking up the right two inches of my screen and I can not remove it. This makes it very difficult and frustrating to use your site. I liked it before that as bar showed up.
The ad section has not changed in over a year. If something seems to not be working right, let me know specifically and I will fix it! If you need more map space, hit the white vertical bar just to the left of the map to expand the map size.
Love your site and have been using it for 2 summers now. The about.com instructions said Planned upgrades to Yard Sale Treasure Map include Garmin GPS support. Any idea if and when this would happen? Also, when I enter new sales I put in the full address and dates and times of the sales. However, when the map directions print, they only show the street name. Any way to add the additional info? Thanks for all you are doing to make yard sale season more fun.
Kris — I have not added anything specifically for Garmin because this can work for you using the Google Maps button directly to the right of the print button. Create your route on YSTM, then send the route to the google maps web page and do whatever you normally do. If you haven’t already installed it, there is a Garmin plugin for your browser that will basically add a little button to the top right where the link, email, and print buttons are. Likewise for TomTom users. I haven’t tried this myself, but I have read that this is how it works.

I really like the site but it’s pulling the wrong craigslist for my area. I can’t seem to find anywhere to fix it. And I manually added all of the garage sales for my area and optimize the route and it never stopped “thinking”. I left it on and left the house after an hour I came home and it was still working. Would be a perfect site if those two things could be fixed.
just curious on how to clear my map on my iphone. I had mannually added new sales from friday’s newspaper and I cant clear them out. They dont show here on the website map, just on my iphone map. Thanks for any suggestions!!!
Was wondering if you caould download the map to an ipad app, that way i have all the information on my ipad, i dont use 3G network, just want to download map of sales i created from the website, and view it on my ipad , including the directions etc…so i can take my ipad with me when i garage sale

I love this site so much. I love how you make it so easy to add addresses quickly with a computer and then see them on my phone. one thing though, on fridays, I ask it to search friday only sales but then my little blue me beakon goes away, so it’s harder to tell where i am in relation to the sale i’m looking for. i have an android htc evo. I tried to print my route on my home computer but when the print screen popped up it was blank. I’m not too concerned because i sent it to my email so hopefully it’s all there or at least the addresses I entered will be there on droid app. thank you so much. i used a different garage sale app before and yours is so much better. especially the being able to add sales where you prefill in the date and the town once I’ve put it in.
Great! I will look into the Friday beacon problem and the blank print screen. This winter I will change things around to also send the itinerary to email since currently the email feature just gets you set up to use the mobile apps.
How can I find the community sales from my droid app? When I search for community sales, I get a message that there are 2 but have no way of finding them without reading each individual add. One tiime the balloons were a different color, now they are all the same. What am I doing wrong?
I would like to know how to get the daily yard sales from my local newspaper. When I downloaded the app it said it can be done. It said go to this web site for info. Thanks Steve
Go to http://yardsaletreasuremap.com on your PC. On the left, directly above the yellow sticky note, hit the “Add Sales” button. Add as many as you like! Please include the zip code in the address to ensure accurate mapping. If you want to see the sales appear on the app make sure to leave the “Share info with all salers” checked.
On the website you include Wednesday. On the iPad application you do not. You have only Thursday Friday Saturday and sunday. In Missouri, we have garage sales on Wednesdays and Saturday’s. Can you please add Wednesday? Thanks!

I have an iphone 3gs and the yard sale treasure map app. I create an interniary on the site and send it to my email. I click on the “route” link in my email, it opens up the app but does not show any of the sales that I put in the internairy. Anyone else having this problem?
Please try opening the link from your email again. If that doesn’t work, try ending the app and then click the link in your email.
I still don’t see Wednesday option to choose for the iPad application. Can you check again? Or do I have to uninstall and reinstall for me to have it? I don’t know how that works! Thanks!
As a new user, I am totally frustrated. I make a map, add an extra sale, delta one I don’t want and then when I go to print or send to my mobile app, it goes right back to the original. Anyone know how to fix this?
Is anyone else having this problem? It sounds like Sharon’s page is somehow refreshing automatically.
The site doesn’t seem to store the sales I am entering. When I refresh the page everything I entered disappears. I can’t view it on my iPhone.

I had hoped that you were going to add the option to use the turn-by-turn Navigation app as one of the choices for the directions “Complete action using” submenu.
P.S. – this last weekend I told several yard sale owners that I found their Craigslist listing through the YSTM app and they were grateful and interested.
Thanks for the quick response to a problem. I had to try some alternative yard sale programs when yours didn’t work (very briefly) and they are not nearly as good as yours. One of the most useful website on the web.

I have to manually add all sales. Not your issue just mine but,:}
It would be easier if it defaulted back to address line to enter the next address.
If would be nice if the add button was above the date then you could tab down to it and press enter. The way it is now it requires 5 tabs to reach the add button and if you go past “add” it kicks you off due to wrong selection.
Would be nice if the Map could be printed seperately tends to be too small. If you print screen to just get the map does not have the letters to match the final map.

A few things I was wondering if possible. First is to set the green starting marker on your own house starting point and for the program to remember this on your computer, so you don’t have to keep doing this when you go the the website. Also if you could please remember that not everyone can afford the phones or whatever that has internet access. I have to print from my home computer and the best way for “us” I think would be to be able to print the map both portrait or landscape and have it the WHOLE page without the ads if possible. Also when you print the itinerary, it just prints on the left hand side and the right has nothing on it. Is there any way to print on both halves of the page so you have less pages printing. I have resized them to print on the least amount of paper and most times the printing is way to small. If it prints on both the left and right hand side you can have the printing larger with less paper used to print them out. Hope that this is possible to help us with only home/public computer use. Thank you.
I just discovered this IPad app, it is great! One question..when I was in the mapping view I had no way to go back to the List of all sales. What am I missing? I had to turn the IPad totally off and the non to reset. Otherwise, love it!
I would have posted this in feature requests, but it appears that posting is closed over there. The Boston area is pulling sales from the Watertown NY Craigslist page. Other than the issue with addresses (which I think it’s great you’re letting users correct those), this is a fantastic app!
Use on android and works OK, but with chrome or IE8, freezes and locks up every time after using the search function…
You sometimes have sales listed on the wrong day and there is no way to correct it. Just went to one today on 416 N. Edgeworth, Royal Oak, and found an empty house. When you go to the actual Craigslist ad, you see the sale took place LAST weekend. I updated the dates, but it still continues to come up for today. This is not the first time this has happened. This site isn’t very useful if the information is not credible.
Sadly, the email link returns nothing but a 404 error message no matter what I do to create the map online (Chrome, Win xp, sending to Android tablet)
Great app, just a few problems with my iPhone 4. Whether I email my route from my laptop or pick the route manually on the iPhone app, every sale that is on the route disappears completely, and the blue route never shows up (on the iPHone). The only way to get the pins back is to find the sales in the list and deselect the “My Route” button. Any fix for this?
Yikes, thanks for letting me know. I do have an update waiting for Apple approval that may fix this, but I will do further testing this weekend. If the problem still exists I should have something available 2 or 3 weeks after the pending update.
I find your tool useful BUT, lots of sales take place on holiday Mondays and you don’t have Monday as an option on your list.
I love the program It has everything I need . The only problem I have is the street view doese not work with I.E. on windows 7 . I works fine with Firefox and if necessary I will switch browser I would prefer not to . Is there a patcha?
I tried street view using IE9 and windows 7 x64 and things worked ok… I’m not sure what the problem could be. I will be upgrading much of the site over the winter, but in the meantime you can’t go wrong getting away from using IE. Sorry I don’t have a better answer!
